Amanda Rose lives on private land in California’s Giant Sequoia National Monument with her husband Sander and sons Frederick (18) and Alastair (11). Among Amanda’s Eat Like a Bear weight loss community members, Amanda is known as a hiker, because it was the goal to hike that motivated her weight loss goal in 2017. “I was laid up on my couch with a knee injury, 280 pounds and limping around my house, wanting desperately to hike with my sons and only being able to see the trails from my windows.”
